SmartConsent uses Chrome's declarativeNetRequest API to block cookie consent management scripts (such as OneTrust, Cookiebot, TrustArc, etc.) at the network level. This means scripts are blocked before they are downloaded or executed. The extension does not read, inspect, or modify any page content for data collection purposes.
SmartConsent's content_scripts inject CSS stylesheets and run an element-hider script (element-hider.js) to hide residual cookie banners. These scripts operate on the page DOM to hide visual elements only. They do not read, collect, or transmit any page content or user data.
SmartConsent does not use any analytics services, tracking pixels, or cookies. The extension website does not set cookies. We have zero telemetry.
SmartConsent uses ExtensionPay for Pro license purchase management only. Payment is processed by Stripe. SmartConsent only checks your license status (active or inactive) and does not access or store any payment details.
To delete all data stored by SmartConsent, you can either uninstall the extension or clear extension data via Chrome settings (Settings → Extensions → SmartConsent → Details → Clear data).
We do not sell, share, or provide user data to third parties.
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Users will be notified of significant changes via extension updates.
